Privacy Policy

Your images

Shrink Image compresses images entirely inside your web browser, on your own phone or computer. When you choose an image, it is read from your device, compressed by encoders running in your browser (WebAssembly), and the result is given back to you to save. Your images are never uploaded, and no copy of them, their contents or their metadata (such as the file name, location or date) is sent to us or to anyone else. We cannot see your images.

Compressed JPG files are saved without the hidden metadata of the original (such as GPS location, camera model and date), so they are safer to share.

Information we collect

We do not collect personal information. There is no sign-up, no account, no contact form and no advertising on this site.

Visit statistics

To see how many people use the site, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first tool. It does not use cookies, does not store anything on your device, does not fingerprint your browser and does not follow you across other websites. It only gives us anonymous totals, such as page views, the referring website, country, browser and device type. It never sees your images. Nothing is counted while you use the app offline.

Cookies and local storage

We do not use cookies. To make the app work offline, your browser stores a copy of the app itself (the page, the image encoders and the icons) using a standard feature called a service worker cache. This copy contains no information about you or your images. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, when your browser downloads the page, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. This happens only when the app files are downloaded, never with your images. Cloudflare handles this data under its own privacy policy; we do not use it to identify you.

Third parties

We do not share or sell any data, because we do not collect any. The image encoders (MozJPEG, OxiPNG, libheif) and the ZIP library are served from this site itself, not loaded from another company's servers.

Children

The site does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If we ever add something that changes how data is handled, for example advertising, we will update this page and the date above before it goes live.
